When we upgrade our Window to the latest Window 10, It moves all of your data from your previous Windows version to the Window 10. But if you want a completely fresh system without any data, then you can do it by the clean installation of Window 10. It is one of the best and most recommended ways to install the Window 10. Today, I’m gonna teach you that how you can do this.
How to do a clean installation of Window 10
You would love to hear that clean installation of Window 10 is pretty easy and simple. The only thing you need is a legal licence of Window 7, 8 or 10 and a USB flash drive. The flash drive or DVD you are using should have at least 4 GB of empty space. Because it is gonna take a backup of your PC before doing a clean installation of Window 10. If you have any on Window 7, 8 and 8.1 with a license key then you can easily do a clean installation of Window 10.
Create an installation media and install Window:
You will need to download and create installation media in order to do a clean installation of Window 10. It can be done; either on a DVD or a flash drive and install it from there.
Windows 10 media creation tool can be downloaded from Microsoft. This media creation tool downloads the files for Window 10 that are best for your PC and helps in creating an installation media i.e. DVD or flash drive. To create an installation media, start it and select the “Create installation media for another PC”.
Make sure to select that type of installation media which is correct for the copy of Windows 10 having a legal license. If the only option is “Windows 10”, just go ahead and it will detect the best version you need. Here, you can select your language and either you want the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows10. Many people need the 64-bit version, but an installation media can be created that includes both (32-bit & 64-bit versions). During the installation process, the installer will automatically detect the most suitable version when you use it to install Windows on your system. I’ve written another article for you through which you can learn how to add contacts to the Window 10.
Now restart your computer with the USB drive or DVD inserted and boot from that device. It might be required to change a setting in the BIOS. To do this, access the boot menu, or use the “Use a device” option in the advanced startup options on a modern Windows 8 or 10 devices that include UEFI firmware in place of the traditional BIOS. Select “Install Now”. Now you will see the activation screen. It depends on the circumstances that what you do here:
- You’ll see an activation screen if you did not installed the Window 10 before. Enter your Windows10 key. You can also use the activation key of Window 7, 8 and 8.1.
- If you have already installed and activated Windows10 on this computer, click “I don’t have a product key”. Windows will automatically activate it when it installed.
- The installer will confirm that you have a “genuine Windows” system installed on your hardware and it is registered with Microsoft’s servers. After that, you don’t need to enter activation key again on that PC. When you want to install Windows10 on that computer, Microsoft identifies your hardware, verify as it is registered, and automatically activate it.
Run through the process normally until you see the “Which type of installation do you want?” screen. Select the “Custom” option to make sure that you are performing a clean installation instead of up-gradation. Make the partitions of system drive which you like. If there is a single Windows partition, you can ask the installer to overwrite it. If there are more than one partitions, you have the option to install on the partition you want.
When you log onto your New, cleanly installed Windows10, it automatically activates itself when connected to the Internet. Just open the Start menu and click on Settings to make sure whether it is activated correctly or not. Click the Update & Security button, and go to the “Activation” tab.
Here you should make it sure to see “Windows is activated” as well as the edition of Windows10 installed on your systems — either Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro. Commonly Window 10 Home edition is installed when you free upgrade from Windows7 or 8, but you get Windows10 Pro edition if previously, you have installed a Professional edition of Windows 7 or 8.
